Third Grade VIOLIN 2020
3rd Grade: EXCITING NEWS!!!
I know, right!? I could hardly believe it myself! Good news is a little rare this year. Our students (and everyone in the world) have suffered so many disappointments and lost opportunities in 2020, but there are also some unexpected gifts. Thanks to the generosity of Meyer Music, the North Muskegon Music Boosters, and our supportive Norse administration and community, EVERY 3rd Grader (in the hybrid learning plan) will get to have VIOLIN Music Class this year! I will be visiting the elementary classrooms to teach music this fall, and 3rd Graders will get to complete (and extend!!) their learning on the violin during our music time! We’ll review what we learned in 2nd Grade and dive right into our new 3rd Grade Repertoire! And here’s the BEST PART…
Each 3rd grader will be provided (FREE!!!) with their own violin to borrow (no sharing!!) for school and home practice!
As students transition between in-school and virtual at-home learning... they will need opportunities to be creative, to express ideas and feelings, to create beauty, and to extend their learning and play!
I hope that this musical gift will provide tangible opportunities for your child to express themselves, build confidence, practice creativity, connect with one another safely, and learn new skills that engage their body, mind, and spirit! Please reach out to me if you or your child are overwhelmed or need help or advice! ~Mrs. Corbin [email protected]

*Of course, students should always carefully practice holding their instrument correctly, putting everything together, taking care of their bow (loosening and tightening), and practicing making a clear sound with the bow on each string. Practice makes permanent...so practice carefully. You become what you practice. Don't be sloppy. |
